You are invited to apply online for the Dormant Assest Fund, and please note that we will be moving to an full online application process over the coming months. In the meantime, application forms for the Community Fund, Thematic Fund and Smaller Grants should be downloaded and completed via Adobe Reader. These application forms can be downloaded by clicking the appropriate links shared in the application process section below.

Looking for a grant of up to £2,500? Here’s a simple overview of what you need to do. Smaller Grants are designed to support straightforward projects that benefit communities, improve access, or enhance wellbeing with a fast, easy application process.

The Process
1. Review the Guidance Notes

Make sure this grant programme is right for your project. If you have questions, check our grants page or contact us.

2. Complete Outline Proposal Form

Before completing a full application, you have the option to submit a short outline proposal. This helps you check if your project is eligible and whether it’s likely to be considered by the Trustees. Please note that this is not a formal application.
3. Download the Application Form

Open the form using Adobe Reader and save your progress as you go.

4. Submit Your Application

Completed applications may be emailed to grants@mlt.org.im or sent via post at least 4 months before your project is due to start. We’ll confirm receipt within 5 working days.
5. We Assess Your Application

Our officers may contact you with questions to clarify details. This personalised approach keeps the application form simple and improves your chance of success. We will also inform you of the date your application will be considered by the Trustees.

6. Trustee Decision

Your application is reviewed and decided upon by the Trustees.
7. Outcome Notification
  • If successful, you will receive a conditional grant offer letter within 1 week with full details of the next steps.
  • If unsuccessful, you will receive a letter within 1 week explaining our decision.
  • Once the conditional offer has been accepted by you and all relevant documentation has been completed and returned, you will receive a Confirmation of Grant letter.
8. Project Completion
  • Projects must be completed within 12 months of the grant confirmation date, unless a longer period is agreed by Trustees.
  • You must submit an End of Grant Report detailing how the grant was spent and what was achieved.
